A 25-year-old woman and her two minor daughters were found dead in a pond in the Govindgarh area near Jaipur on Tuesday, in a suspected case of suicide, police said.
Incident Details
According to Govindgarh Station House Officer (SHO) Vinod Sankhla, the woman, identified as Pooja, had been married for six years. She left her home early Tuesday morning and allegedly jumped into the pond, located approximately 2 kilometres from her residence, along with her two daughters.
The bodies were recovered from the pond and subsequently shifted to the mortuary of a nearby hospital for postmortem examination, the SHO confirmed.
Police Investigation Underway
Police have launched a probe to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic deaths. The officer stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the motive behind the suspected suicide. No suicide note has been recovered so far, and authorities are questioning family members and neighbours to gather more information.
