Three youths have been arrested in connection with a viral video that allegedly shows individuals consuming drugs inside a passenger bus in Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala district. The footage, which has spread rapidly on social media, has ignited widespread discussion and raised serious questions about the effectiveness of Punjab's ongoing anti-drug campaign.
Video Shows Alleged Drug Use Inside Bus
The video depicts a woman and three youths reportedly consuming intoxicating substances while seated inside a bus. The incident has prompted the Sultanpur Lodhi police to register a case against the accused individuals after the clip went viral.
Police Identify and Arrest Three Suspects
According to DSP Dhirendra Verma, law enforcement officials were able to identify three of the youths from the video and have taken them into custody. The arrested individuals have been identified as Jugraj Singh, a resident of Makhu; Ranga Singh, a resident of Chuharpur village under Kabirpur police station; and Mushtaq, a resident of Bilga. All three have been named in the case registered by the police.
Woman in Video Yet to Be Identified
Authorities have not yet established the identity of the woman seen in the footage. Police have stated that legal action will also be taken against her once her identity is confirmed.
