Indian Army Thwarts Infiltration Bid and Busts Terror Module in Jammu's Rajouri District
In a significant security operation, Indian troops successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Sunderbani sector of Jammu's Rajouri district. Simultaneously, a joint team of police and the 54 Rashtriya Rifles dismantled a terror module in the Nowshera area of the same district, arresting a suspected terror associate with direct links to Pakistan-based smugglers and uncovering a trans-border, inter-state weapons racket.
Swift Action Prevents Infiltration Attempt
A spokesperson for the White Knight Corps (16 Corps) announced on social media platform X that alert troops detected suspicious movement of terrorists early on Thursday. The troops responded with swift and calibrated fire, effectively preventing the infiltration bid. The spokesperson emphasized that a state of operational alert continues to be maintained across the entire sector to ensure heightened vigilance and security.
Major Terror Module Busted in Nowshera
In a coordinated effort based on precise intelligence inputs, security forces arrested Sachin Kumar, also known as Pamma, in the Nowshera area. During the operation, a substantial cache of arms and ammunition was seized, including:
- A Turkiye-made Zigana pistol with three magazines
- A Chinese TT-30 Norinco pistol with one magazine
- Fifteen live rounds of ammunition
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Kumar was in direct contact with Pakistan-based terrorists and smugglers, actively operating a sophisticated trans-border and inter-state weapons racket. This network facilitated the illegal movement of arms across regions, posing a serious threat to national security.
Enhanced Security Measures in Jammu Region
The dual operations underscore the ongoing efforts by Indian security forces to maintain tight control along the LoC and within the Jammu region. The successful foiling of the infiltration bid and the busting of the terror module highlight the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and the readiness of troops to respond to emerging threats. Authorities remain on high alert to prevent any further attempts to disrupt peace and stability in the area.
