The West Bengal government is set to launch a new mass outreach programme titled 'Apnar Sarkar Ke Bolun' (tell your government), replacing the earlier 'Mukhyamantri Ke Bolo' (tell your chief minister) initiative. Along with the name change, the helpline number for the programme will also be updated.
Announcement by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, during an administrative meeting held in Kalyani to review development projects across Nadia, Hooghly, and North 24 Parganas districts, announced the new helpline. He stated, 'We will discontinue ‘Mukhyamantri Ke Bolo'. State BJP president Samik Bhattacharya has suggested a name — ‘Apnar Sarkar Ke Bolun'. We will change the helpline number as well.'
Background of the Programmes
The earlier 'Didi Ke Bolo' (tell didi) programme was launched by former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in 2019. It allowed citizens to directly share complaints or suggestions with government and party officials, bypassing intermediaries. After being sworn in as Chief Minister, Adhikari introduced 'Janatar Darbar' to directly address citizens' grievances.
The new outreach programme aims to further streamline citizen-government communication, ensuring that public concerns are heard and addressed promptly.
