Bengaluru: The city police on Friday stated that no 'peaceful human chain' event planned by the 'Cockroach Janata Party Karnataka' will be allowed in front of Town Hall on Sunday. In an official press release, the police commissioner's office clarified that no application or permission had been received from any individual, organization, or political party seeking approval for such a gathering. 'No permission for the programme or use of the location has been given to anyone by the GBA office,' the statement added.

Public Advisory Issued

The police have advised the public not to forward or share any messages related to this event on social media platforms. Citizens are also urged to refrain from assembling near Town Hall, as any such gathering would be in violation of existing regulations.

Legal Restrictions on Protests

According to a directive from the Karnataka High Court, all protests, dharnas, and rallies in Bengaluru are permitted only at Freedom Park and not at any other location within the city. This order aims to maintain public order and prevent disruptions in other areas.

The police reiterated that any unauthorized assembly would be dealt with according to the law. They encouraged citizens to follow official channels for any planned demonstrations and to stay informed through verified sources only.
