Ketan Bhatikar's Family Seeks End to Speculation Over Congress Leader's Death
Bhatikar Family Appeals for End to Death Speculation

Ponda: The family of late Congress member Ketan Bhatikar has appealed to people not to speculate over his death. His elder brother Kautuk released a video alongside their inconsolable parents, stating that the family has no doubts about the circumstances surrounding his death and does not want any further inquiry.

“Ketan was working for the masses and the huge gathering at his cortege and cremation reflected his social work,” Kautuk said. A homeopath by profession, he said he would continue the social initiatives started by his brother through the Bhatikar Charitable Trust.

The family's plea comes amid widespread rumors and conjectures about the untimely demise of the 45-year-old politician. Ketan Bhatikar, a two-time Congress MLA from the Ponda constituency, was found dead at his residence earlier this week. While initial reports suggested a heart attack, some quarters raised questions about the cause.

Kautuk emphasized that the family is satisfied with the medical reports and has full faith in the authorities. He urged well-wishers and the media to respect their privacy and refrain from spreading unverified information. The Bhatikar Charitable Trust, founded by Ketan, will now be led by Kautuk, who aims to carry forward the legacy of community service.

The funeral was attended by thousands, including political leaders from across party lines, reflecting the respect Ketan commanded. The family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support but reiterated their desire for closure.
