Bhubaneswar: BJP president Nitin Nabin lauded Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for the performance of the state government while assigning tasks to various party functionaries. After attending the BJP core committee meeting, the BJP chief wrote in an X post that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance and CM Majhi's leadership, Odisha's "double engine government" is taking the state to "a new height of development."
Instructions for MPs and MLAs
MP (Balasore) Pratap Chandra Sarangi said the BJP chief asked the MPs and MLAs to frequently visit different parts of their constituencies and stay overnight to understand people's problems. A party insider revealed that each Lok Sabha member was asked to spend at least seven nights per month, one night in each of the seven assembly segments under their Lok Sabha constituency. Rajya Sabha members were also asked to devote time to different areas.
Role of Ministers and MLAs
While ministers were asked to frequently visit districts and review the progress of works at the district level, the MLAs were also directed to spend maximum time in their assembly seats. Party functionaries were instructed to ensure that youths, especially those from Generation Z, are actively involved in party and government activities.
The BJP chief is scheduled to revisit Odisha in July to review the progress of the tasks assigned during this meeting.
