Jalandhar is set to witness a grand spectacle as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepares to host its national president, Nitin Nabin, for his first roadshow in the city. The event, scheduled for Saturday evening, will feature traditional Punjabi elements like nagadas, dhols, and bhangra performances to welcome the party chief.
Roadshow Route and Preparations
The roadshow will commence at Prabhu Shri Ram Chowk, also known as Company Bagh Chowk, and conclude at Valmiki Chowk. Party workers from three constituencies have been mobilized, with thousands expected to participate. The atmosphere will be festive, with bhangra performances accompanying the beats of dhols.
Nitin Nabin will be accompanied by senior leaders including National Vice-President Saudan Singh, Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, and Tarun Chugh. The entire state leadership and workers from three urban Vidhan Sabha segments will be present.
Austerity Measures
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's austerity measures amid the West Asia conflict, only a limited number of vehicles will be deployed during the roadshow. This reflects the party's commitment to responsible spending.
Schedule of Events
Following the roadshow, a dinner meeting of the party's core committee will be held. On Sunday morning, Nabin will attend an International Yoga Day program at Lovely Professional University, where he will be chief guest at a mass yoga session expected to draw around 12,000 participants.
Later, after a Sant Sammelan, Nabin will preside over marathon meetings with party workers, from grassroots cadres to senior leadership. In Ludhiana, a meeting of Mandal Adhyakshs and Shakti Kendra representatives will be held to strategize for upcoming elections. Each Shakti Kendra comprises five booths.
Worker Meetings
A workers' meeting will follow, involving senior leaders, former MLAs, MPs, and office-bearers. Around 300-400 party workers and leaders from Jalandhar, including 200 Shakti Kendra representatives, are expected to attend the Ludhiana meetings. During his two-day stay, Nabin will also interact with industrialists and farmers.
A senior party leader in Jalandhar stated, "The party national president's visit and meets with grassroots workers will further galvanize party cadres. The meetings aim to strategize effective outreach by grassroots workers to the state's populace. This visit will be a huge morale booster and set the ball rolling for upcoming elections."
