BJP J&K Gears Up for Nitin Nabin's First Visit

The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated preparations for the two-day visit of party president Nitin Nabin, scheduled for July 6 and 7. This marks Nabin's maiden trip to the region since assuming the party's top post.

Nabin is slated to arrive in Jammu on July 6 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. The event is part of the Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Smriti Pakhwada, a fortnight-long observance running from June 23 to July 6.

Key Programmes and Organizational Review

Addressing a meeting of party leaders, Member of Parliament and J&K BJP president Sat Sharma reviewed ongoing party activities and stressed the need for successful implementation of all forthcoming programmes at every organizational level. He outlined six key programmes scheduled by the party and underscored the significance of observing Mookerjee's birth anniversary.

Sharma informed party leaders that Nabin would address party workers, public meetings, and organizational gatherings during his visit. On July 7, the BJP chief is expected to hold a meeting with senior BJP leaders and RSS functionaries in J&K, and is likely to visit Udhampur the same day.

Grassroots Strengthening and Digital Initiatives

The meeting, attended by party office-bearers, district prabharis, district presidents, and district seh-prabharis from across Jammu and Kashmir, focused on strengthening the party's grassroots network. Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organisation), elaborated on upcoming organizational programmes and emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings from the district to the booth level.

Koul called for seminars on the life and contributions of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee on July 6, encouraged extensive plantation drives during the monsoon season, and urged party leaders and workers to actively participate in the party's digital learning programme. The BJP is planning a grand observance of Mookerjee's birth anniversary, with events designed to highlight his legacy and the party's ideological roots.
