BJP national secretary and Punjab in-charge Dr Narender Singh Raina conducted a significant visit to Ludhiana on Sunday, engaging with party workers and office bearers in a detailed meeting. The session focused extensively on the key features of the Union Budget presented by the central government on February 1.

Budget Based on Inclusive Development Principles

Addressing media personnel after the meeting, Dr Raina emphasized that the budget is firmly rooted in the ethos of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas." He described it as a robust stride toward realizing the vision of a Developed India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this budget not only addresses immediate requirements but also paves the way for new opportunities for future generations, according to Raina.

Despite global economic uncertainties and political hurdles, India's economy maintains its resilience, and this budget serves to bolster that confidence further, he added.

Significant Reforms in EPFO and Labour Sector

Dr Raina highlighted that the government has implemented notable enhancements in the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation and labour reforms as part of this budget. These measures aim to streamline processes and improve welfare for workers across the nation.

Historic Increases in Health and Railway Budgets

The BJP leader pointed out a remarkable 176 percent surge in the health sector budget over the past 12 years, underscoring the government's dedication to extending health services to every individual. In a striking comparison, he noted that during the Congress administration from 2009 to 2014, the railway budget for Punjab stood at a mere Rs 225 crores. However, by the year 2026-27, this figure has skyrocketed to an impressive Rs 5,677 crores.

"Work has already commenced on several pivotal projects, including the Ferozepur-Tarntaran rail track and the Harike bridge," Raina stated, highlighting the proactive steps being taken to enhance Punjab's railway infrastructure.

Comprehensive Provisions for MSMEs and Broader Sectors

Dr Raina praised the budget for its historic provisions targeting the MSME sector, infrastructure, health, education, and technology. He characterized this budget as a comprehensive blueprint for the advancement of villages, the impoverished, farmers, youth, women, and all societal segments, effectively heralding an industrial revolution.

"The Indian economy is advancing at the fastest pace globally and is steering toward a luminous future," he asserted, reinforcing the optimistic outlook presented in the budget.
