Cross-voting not a setback for BJP: Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar

Mysuru: Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar on Saturday dismissed reports of cross-voting by a few BJP legislators in the recently concluded legislative council elections, asserting that the incident has no connection with the state BJP leadership and will not impact its functioning.

No Impact on Alliance

Speaking to reporters, Yaduveer clarified that the cross-voting would also not affect the BJP–JD(S) alliance. “The party has taken the matter seriously. There is a system in place to identify those who indulged in cross-voting, and we will trace them,” he said.

Political Process

He added that such incidents are not uncommon when a different party is in power. “These are part of the political process. Nothing is embarrassing about this, nor is it a setback for the party,” he said.

Response to Home Minister

Responding to home minister Priyank Kharge’s remarks on the RSS’s registration status, Yaduveer said the comments did not warrant a response. “He is free to raise questions as the home minister, but there is no need to respond to everything he says. Politicians make such statements for political reasons, and he may continue to do so,” he added.
