Special Armouries Established in Delhi Hotels for AI Summit Security

In a significant security enhancement, authorities have reportedly set up special armouries at select hotels across New Delhi to prevent any ammunition shortages during the upcoming Artificial Intelligence summit. This proactive measure aims to ensure commandos have immediate access to essential supplies in case of emergencies.

Strategic Stockpiles for Uninterrupted Operations

According to security sources, these strategically placed armouries will maintain an uninterrupted supply chain of bullets and critical equipment during potential operations. The initiative, first proposed during a security preparedness meeting, includes loaded magazines, backup weapons, medical supplies, stun and smoke grenades, and wireless set chargers.

The security plan establishes a robust real-time support system where supply teams will move alongside operational commandos during any incident. This eliminates the need for commandos to return to base for additional supplies, ensuring smooth and continuous execution of security protocols.

Comprehensive Security Deployment Across Delhi

Security measures extend beyond the armouries with extensive personnel deployment and advanced surveillance systems:

  • 20,000 security personnel from CAPF, Delhi Police, and traffic police will secure key routes, hotels, and the Bharat Mandapam venue.
  • Gesture recognition cameras and intrusion alert systems will be operational at both the venue and delegate hotels.
  • NSG snipers will be stationed in buildings along routes connecting IGI Airport, delegate hotels, and the summit venue.

Enhanced Support for Dignitaries and Emergency Response

Additional security provisions have been implemented to ensure dignitary safety and rapid emergency response:

  1. Metro stations along the Bharat Mandapam route will feature heightened security with English-proficient officers to assist dignitaries using public transport.
  2. A dedicated pilot team will accompany visiting dignitaries' spouses during excursions to marketplaces or other areas outside the summit venue.
  3. Quick response teams have been deployed at IGI Airport to handle any emergency situations that may arise.

This comprehensive security framework demonstrates the government's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all participants during the high-profile AI summit in the national capital.
