Former West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose Resigns, Announces Move to Kerala for Viksit Bharat
In a significant political development, C V Ananda Bose has resigned from his position as the Governor of West Bengal. His first public statement following the resignation did not provide any specific reasons for this abrupt decision. Instead, Bose revealed that he is relocating to Kerala to actively participate in the Viksit Bharat mission, a national development initiative.
Resignation Announced via Social Media and Official Letter
Bose made the announcement through a post on the official Raj Bhavan X handle at 10:21 PM. Alongside this post, he shared his resignation letter addressed to President Droupadi Murmu. Notably, the letter also omitted any explanation for his sudden departure from the gubernatorial role. This move comes just a week after Bose expressed his enthusiasm about being a registered voter in Bengal and his intention to cast his vote there in upcoming elections.
In his statement, Bose wrote, "My innings in West Bengal is coming to a close. I am deeply indebted to the great people of Bengal for the affection and regards lavished on me. I am shifting to Kerala to work towards Viksit Bharat. I will work under the guidance of the national leadership for achieving the goals of this great mission and do my best to further the cause of our dear Keralam, which is my home state."
Gratitude Expressed to National Leaders and Future Plans
Bose extended his heartfelt gratitude to several key national figures, including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, acknowledging their kindness and guidance during his tenure. He emphasized that his return to Kerala is driven by a sense of duty and gratitude towards the people who raised him.
Regarding his future endeavors, Bose stated, "I take this new mission as my solemn duty and as a gesture of gratitude to the people of Keralam, who, I would say, brought me up. I also extend my best wishes to Shri R N Ravi, my very dear friend and distinguished public administrator, who will be my illustrious successor." This indicates a smooth transition of responsibilities, with R N Ravi set to take over the gubernatorial role in West Bengal.
Context and Implications of the Resignation
The resignation of C V Ananda Bose marks a notable shift in the political landscape of West Bengal. His decision to focus on the Viksit Bharat initiative highlights a broader national commitment to development and progress. While the exact reasons for his resignation remain undisclosed, his dedication to contributing to Kerala's growth under national leadership is clear.
This development underscores the dynamic nature of Indian politics, where public servants often transition between roles to align with national objectives. Bose's move from a state governor to a mission-oriented role in his home state reflects a personal and professional realignment towards grassroots development efforts.
