Gangster Claims Responsibility in Rajpura Firing Incident

A day after two masked men opened fire at the office of a property dealer in Rajpura town, Patiala district, local gangster Goldy Dhillon has claimed responsibility for the attack. In a viral social media post, Dhillon also threatened Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Rajpura, Neena Mittal, and her family. The post, uploaded from an account named 'Goldy Dhillon', mentions Rana Dhillon and the Goldy Dhillon gang as being behind the attack. However, the authenticity of the post and its link to the firing have not been independently verified, and police have not officially confirmed the claims.

Details of the Firing

According to police, the assailants arrived on a two-wheeler and fired approximately eight rounds before fleeing. No injuries were reported. Eyewitnesses stated that one of the accused entered the office of Laxmi Property Dealer, located near an underbridge at Rajpura, and inquired about the owner, Ramesh Pahuja. When a woman employee informed him that Pahuja was not present, the man allegedly pulled out a revolver and opened fire. He then escaped with his accomplice. Rajpura City SHO Gursewak Singh, Patiala SHO Pradeep Bajwa, and other police officials reached the spot soon after and launched an investigation.

MLA Neena Mittal Responds

Reacting to the incident, AAP MLA Neena Mittal termed it 'very unfortunate'. Speaking to The Tribune, she said, 'Laxmi Property is a well-known name in the area and has been in this business for the last 20-25 years. The land grabbing allegations and business interest with property dealers are false. He runs his business independently and neither my family nor I have anything to do with it.' The allegations levelled against the MLA and the property dealer remain unsubstantiated.
