Gujarat BJP Chief Applauds Union Budget as a 'Strong Step for Right Direction'
Gujarat BJP president Jagdish Vishvakarma has lauded the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, describing it as a "strong step for the right direction" that aligns with India's long-term vision. In a press conference held at the party's state headquarters, 'Shree Kamalam', in Gandhinagar, Vishvakarma emphasized that the budget serves as a comprehensive blueprint for Viksit Bharat 2047 and outlines a strategic roadmap for the next 25 years.
Budget as a Blueprint for Viksit Bharat 2047
Vishvakarma highlighted that the Rs 53.5 lakh crore budget addresses both current and future national requirements, with a particular focus on key sectors. He noted that the budget places significant thrust on:
- Women empowerment and encouragement for youths
- Enhancement of health and medical infrastructure
- Improvements in logistics, connectivity, and general infrastructure
- Conservation and promotion of culture, heritage, and tourism
- Self-reliance in industry and technology
- Agriculture and rural development, fisheries, and defence
- Support for sports, MSMEs, and the startup ecosystem
- Positive utilization of artificial intelligence
Gujarat-Specific Announcements and Employment Opportunities
The Gujarat BJP chief also pointed out several budget announcements that are specifically beneficial for the state. These include:
- Development of heritage sites such as Lothal and Dholavira
- Establishment of a dedicated freight corridor between Surat and Dankuni
- Upgradation of the WHO traditional medicine centre in Jamnagar
Vishvakarma stressed that these initiatives are crucial for Gujarat's growth and will contribute to the state's economic development. Additionally, he discussed various budget provisions related to MSMEs, manufacturing, and the textile sector, asserting that these measures will help generate employment opportunities within Gujarat.

In a party release, Vishvakarma was quoted as saying, "This 'reform express' Budget realises Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and strengthens the foundation of Viksit Bharat." He further added that every announcement in the budget is designed to empower different segments of society, providing wings to the dreams of the youth, supporting the hard work of farmers, and fulfilling the aspirations of common citizens.
The Union Budget, according to Vishvakarma, not only reflects a forward-looking approach but also reinforces the government's commitment to building a developed India by 2047.
