Haryana Amends Sports Gradation Policy to Expand Athlete Benefits
Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister and Secretary General of the Haryana Olympic Association, Krishan Lal Panwar, has welcomed the state government’s significant amendment to the Sports Gradation Policy. The revised policy now allows players participating in the Haryana State Games to be eligible for sports gradation benefits, including advantages in government employment and other opportunities.
Key Changes in the Revised Policy
Panwar stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state government has taken a historic step to safeguard the interests of athletes. The Haryana State Games, organized by the Haryana Olympic Association, will now be recognized under the gradation framework, enabling thousands of athletes across the state to access benefits previously unavailable to them.
Impact on Athletes and Sporting Culture
Panwar emphasized that the decision would prove highly beneficial for thousands of athletes across Haryana. It would provide them with greater opportunities to showcase their talent while encouraging more young people to take up sports. The move is a significant step towards further strengthening Haryana’s sporting culture, he added.
Government’s Commitment to Sports Development
Panwar further noted that the Haryana Government has consistently been implementing progressive policies to promote sports and secure a bright future for athletes. The revised Sports Gradation Policy would boost the morale of players and further reinforce Haryana’s position as a leading sporting state at both the national and international levels.
