India has categorically rejected Pakistan's allegations linking it to the recent Karachi blast, terming the claims as baseless and mischievous. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a strong statement on Monday, dismissing the accusations made by Pakistani officials.
India's Response to Pakistan's Allegations
In an official statement, the MEA spokesperson said, "We have seen the baseless allegations made by Pakistan regarding the Karachi blast. India categorically rejects these claims. Such accusations are a desperate attempt to divert attention from Pakistan's own internal problems and its support for cross-border terrorism."
The statement further added that India has always been a victim of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and that Islamabad should focus on taking credible action against terrorist entities operating from its soil instead of making false allegations against India.
Background of the Karachi Blast
A powerful explosion rocked Karachi on June 25, 2026, killing at least 12 people and injuring over 50 others. The blast occurred in a crowded market area, causing widespread damage. Pakistani authorities quickly blamed India for the attack, citing alleged involvement of Indian intelligence agencies.
However, no evidence has been provided to support these claims. India has consistently maintained that it does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and follows a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
International Reactions
The international community has urged both nations to exercise restraint and avoid escalating tensions. The United Nations called for a thorough investigation into the blast and stressed the need for cooperation between India and Pakistan to combat terrorism.
Meanwhile, analysts believe that the allegations are part of a pattern where Pakistan attempts to shift blame for its internal security challenges onto India. According to security expert Dr. Rajesh Kumar, "Pakistan has a history of making unsubstantiated claims against India to deflect attention from its own failures in maintaining law and order."
India's Stance on Terrorism
India has reiterated its commitment to fighting terrorism in all its forms. The MEA statement emphasized that India remains ready to work with all countries, including Pakistan, to eliminate the scourge of terrorism, provided there is a genuine commitment to do so.
New Delhi has also called on Pakistan to fulfill its obligations under international conventions to combat terrorism and to bring the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks to justice.
The Indian government has urged Pakistan to stop its policy of state-sponsored terrorism and focus on the welfare of its own people. The rejection of the baseless allegations is a clear message that India will not be intimidated by false accusations.
