According to the TMC, Abhishek had requested security prior to visiting the family of Sanju Karmakar, a victim of post-poll violence. Despite the attack, he chose to stay with the bereaved family, refusing to turn back. The party shared a video showing Abhishek surrounded by supporters, with the caption praising his resolve.
