Mayawati Alerts BSP to Opposition Strategies in National Meeting
In a significant all-India gathering held in Lucknow on Sunday, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati issued a stark warning to her party cadre. She emphasized that opposition parties are actively working to weaken the BSP in every state where it demonstrates growing strength and influence.
Call for Resilience and Progress
Addressing the assembled members, Mayawati urged party workers to confront these challenges with determination and continue advancing the party's agenda. "The opposition will try to weaken the BSP in every state where it becomes strong. However, party people should face it strongly and keep moving ahead," she stated, highlighting the need for unwavering commitment in the face of political adversity.
High-Level Attendance and Organizational Review
The meeting saw the presence of key BSP leaders, including national convener Akash Anand, vice president Anand Kumar, and national general secretary SC Mishra. Additionally, the presidents of the party's state units from across the country were in attendance. During the session, Mayawati conducted a thorough review of the organizational work carried out by these state units, issuing necessary instructions to enhance efficiency and outreach.
Critique of Opposition Credibility
Mayawati also took the opportunity to critique opposition parties and their governments, asserting that they are losing credibility due to their policies and actions. "Opposition parties and their governments are losing credibility because of their schemes and actions, which do not favour the poor, farmers, and bahujans," she remarked, referring to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and religious minorities. This, she argued, underscores the BSP's role as a champion for marginalized communities.
BSP's Responsibility in Uttar Pradesh
Reflecting on the party's historical significance, Mayawati pointed out that in Uttar Pradesh, the BSP carries a substantial responsibility. "Therefore, in UP, the party has a big responsibility, where it became a new hope for people. This is because of the four times that the party formed government in the state," said the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, underscoring the party's legacy and ongoing relevance in the state's political landscape.
Comments on Trade Deal with America
Expanding her address to national issues, Mayawati commented on the trade deal with America, noting that the Indian government faces significant challenges in safeguarding the interests of farmers and bahujans. "It is better if India did a deal based on its terms and conditions," she advised, advocating for a negotiation strategy that prioritizes domestic welfare over external pressures.
This comprehensive meeting in Lucknow served as a platform for Mayawati to rally her party, outline strategic directions, and reinforce the BSP's commitment to its core constituencies amid evolving political dynamics.
