President Murmu Envisions Inclusive, Technology-Powered Developed India
In a significant address at Nagpur, President Droupadi Murmu articulated a comprehensive vision for a developed India, emphasizing that true progress must be equitable and driven by technology. Speaking at the launch of the statewide campaign 'Golden Era of Maharashtra through unity and trust' at the Brahma Kumaris' Vishwa Shanti Sarovar in Jamtha, she outlined the essential pillars for national advancement.
Equitable Growth and Technological Advancement
President Murmu stressed that India's development journey will only be complete when every citizen has equal opportunities to thrive. "India will be truly developed when everyone has equal opportunities to advance, technology becomes a vehicle for development, and the benefits of progress reach every household," she declared. This statement underscores her commitment to an inclusive growth model that leverages technological innovations to uplift all sections of society.
Maharashtra's Role in National Progress
Highlighting Maharashtra's pivotal contribution, Murmu praised the state as a beacon of social, economic, cultural, and spiritual development. "Maharashtra presents examples of social, economic, cultural and spiritual development in the country," she noted. The President elaborated that the state's strength in industry, agriculture, entrepreneurship, innovation, higher education, and cultural traditions has positioned it as a leading hub in India's development narrative, powering the nation's overall progress.
Unity and Trust as Foundational Pillars
Central to her message was the call for collective responsibility in nation-building. Murmu asserted that unity and trust are the bedrock upon which a powerful nation is constructed. "Unity and trust are the pillars on which a powerful nation is built. When mutual trust grows in society, people rise above personal gain and work together for common public good," she explained. She emphasized that such participation is crucial for steering India towards its developed future.

Reflecting on Maharashtra's rich historical legacy, the President described it as a sacred land that birthed great ideologies and ideals of nation-building. She invoked the contributions of iconic figures such as:

Murmu remarked, "Their thoughts, struggles, and contributions empowered our nation. The inspiration derived from their life values continues to guide us." She highlighted that these personalities impart essential messages of patriotism, unity, and trust, which are vital for the country's all-round development.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Enduring Influence
Specifically referencing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the President hailed him as one of India's most inspiring figures who championed justice and freedom. "He was one of our nation's most inspiring figures who fought for justice and freedom. His struggle was for Swaraj," she said. Murmu added that Shivaji Maharaj sowed the seeds of public welfare, justice, vigour, leadership, and security-centred governance in India, leaving a lasting legacy.
Reclaiming India's Civilizational Stature
Recalling India's historical prominence as the 'vishwa guru' or world teacher, Murmu noted, "There was a time when India was called the 'vishwa guru'. It used to be the nest of golden birds." She emphasized that every era has its value, stating, "That era was also good. This era is also good and the coming era will also be good." Positivity and faith, she underlined, are central to reclaiming that esteemed stature.
Collective Resolve for a Golden Future
Linking past glories to future aspirations, Murmu expressed that the dream of a resurgent nation hinges on collective resolve and constructive thinking. "I think we must leave negativity and be positive, and the day is not far when we dream of making Golden India," she affirmed. She expressed confidence that initiatives promoting inner peace, positive leadership, and value-based development would strengthen societal unity and trust, propelling India forward on the path to a developed nation.

Governor Acharya Devvrat echoed the theme of unity and trust, stating, "Where there is unity, there is trust; and where there is trust, there is unity." He emphasized that without unity, peace is unattainable. Highlighting India's civilizational ethos, he said, "India has sent saints and spiritual teachers to the world, not invaders. We worked to win hearts, not territories." Devvrat called for integrity in public life, urging that mind, speech, and action must align, and stressed that India's foundational values are rooted in the Vedas and shared cultural principles.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule emphasized the need for grassroots transformation. "Transformation in life begins from this very land," he said, noting that while this is an era of technological and economic strength, it is also a time to build sensitivity and social awareness. He cautioned that technology, while strengthening the economy, can also induce stress and create social distances. "In such a situation, we must strengthen unity and trust. No matter what decisions the govt takes, unless society becomes aware, nothing will change," he asserted, describing the campaign as a movement for social awakening.
The event was attended by notable figures from the Brahma Kumaris, including Nagpur head Rajyogini BK Rajni Didi, additional general secretary BK Mruthyunjaya Bhai, and Rajyogini BK Chandrika Didi, who shared the stage with the dignitaries.
