Punjab Government Secures Land for Guru Ravidass Bani Adhyayan Centre
In a significant development, the Punjab government has successfully secured physical possession of 10.5 acres of acquired land located in Naugajja and Faridpur villages along Kartarpur Road. This land is earmarked for the establishment of the Guru Ravidass Bani Adhyayan Centre, a project aimed at promoting the study and dissemination of Guru Ravidass's teachings.
High-Profile Presence at Possession Ceremony
The entire possession process was conducted in the presence of key dignitaries, ensuring transparency and official oversight. Attendees included Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, MLA Balkar Singh, Punjab Agriculture Development Bank Chairman Pawan Teenu, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Aggarwal, and representatives from Dera Sachkhand Ballan. This collective presence underscores the government's commitment to the project's timely execution.
Project Enters Crucial Execution Phase
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema emphasized that the project has now entered a crucial execution phase. He stated, "The design and layout plan of the Centre is being prepared by experts in consultation with representatives of Dera Sachkhand Ballan. Tenders will be floated at the earliest so that construction begins without any further delay." This collaborative approach aims to incorporate community input and ensure the centre meets its intended cultural and educational objectives.
Government Allocates Funds for Infrastructure
To facilitate smooth construction, the Punjab government has committed to bearing an expenditure of ₹55 lakh for shifting high-tension electricity wires from the site. This proactive measure is designed to prevent any potential delays, allowing construction work to proceed efficiently and without interruptions. Cheema highlighted this as a key step in ensuring the project's progress aligns with the government's timeline.
Meeting with Dera Ballan Leadership
Following the possession ceremony, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders called on Sant Niranjan Dass, the head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan. This meeting likely focused on reinforcing the partnership between the government and the dera, discussing further details of the centre's development, and addressing any community concerns to foster ongoing cooperation.
The establishment of the Guru Ravidass Bani Adhyayan Centre represents a significant initiative by the Punjab government to honor and propagate the legacy of Guru Ravidass, contributing to cultural preservation and educational enrichment in the region.
