NCP (SP) Legislator Demands Aviation Minister's Resignation Amid Baramati Air Crash Investigation
In a significant political development, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has formally demanded the resignation of Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu until the completion of the investigation into the tragic Baramati air crash that claimed the life of his uncle, Ajit Pawar. Rohit Pawar, who is the nephew of the deceased leader, has raised serious allegations regarding the handling of the investigation. "The civil aviation minister and his party, TDP, maintain close ties with the owners of this company," Pawar asserted during his statement on Wednesday.
To substantiate his claims, Pawar referenced social connections between political figures and the company's owners. "Several former ministers from Maharashtra and senior TDP ministers from Andhra Pradesh attended the wedding of Rohit Singh, son of VSR owner VK Singh," he disclosed, arguing that these relationships create a conflict of interest. On moral grounds, he insisted Minister Naidu should not continue in his role during the probe.

Baramati MP and Ajit Pawar's cousin, Supriya Sule, has echoed the call for accountability, demanding a "transparent and comprehensive" inquiry into the crash. "New information surfaces daily about this incident. With mounting public questions, we require complete data and a formal investigation," Sule emphasized. She praised Rohit Pawar's diligent approach, noting he is conducting a "scientific follow-up" of the matter driven by his personal loss and quest for truth.
Rohit Pawar also revealed that his family has expressed concerns about his safety following his outspoken stance against influential entities. "I have confronted powerful interests, which has understandably worried my loved ones," he admitted. Furthermore, he speculated about potential political motives behind the crash, suggesting it could relate to uncertainties within the NCP's alliances. "If there is a political dimension, it might involve scenarios like NCP(SP) merging with NCP and joining the NDA, or Ajit Pawar exiting the NDA. Certain factions were dissatisfied with both possibilities," he explained.
