Ladakh-based climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has announced that he will begin an indefinite hunger strike in Delhi on June 28 if Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is not removed from his post. Wangchuk accuses Pradhan of failing to address the long-standing demands of the people of Ladakh, including statehood, constitutional safeguards, and job reservations.

Wangchuk stated that the hunger strike will be held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, a common site for protests.
