Suvendu Adhikari Slams AJUP MLA, Says BJP Will Restore Rule of Law in Bengal
Suvendu Adhikari Slams AJUP MLA Over Provocative Remarks

West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has strongly condemned All India United Democratic Front (AJUP) MLA Humayun Kabir for what he termed 'provocative' remarks, asserting that a future BJP government would restore the rule of law in the state. Two criminal cases have been registered against Kabir in connection with his statements.

Adhikari's Strong Response

Speaking to the media on Monday, Adhikari accused Kabir of making inflammatory comments that could disrupt communal harmony. 'The AJUP MLA's remarks are highly provocative and aimed at dividing society. Such statements cannot be tolerated,' Adhikari said. He added that the current Trinamool Congress government has failed to maintain law and order, but a BJP government would ensure strict action against those who incite violence.

Criminal Cases Filed

According to police sources, two separate FIRs have been lodged against Humayun Kabir at different police stations in the state. The cases pertain to alleged hate speech and incitement to violence. 'The investigations are underway, and appropriate legal action will be taken,' a senior police official stated, requesting anonymity.

Political Reactions

The development has sparked a political row, with the Trinamool Congress accusing the BJP of using the issue for political gain. TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, 'The BJP is trying to divert attention from its failures. The law will take its own course.' However, Adhikari reiterated that the BJP is committed to justice and security for all citizens. 'We will not allow anyone to disturb the peace of Bengal,' he declared.
