Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president T Jagga Reddy on Saturday called upon the online sensation Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and its supporters to compare the 11-year rule of the Modi government with the Congress party's governance since Jawaharlal Nehru. The CJP, which has attracted 18 million followers on social media, was urged to recognize the contributions of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, hailed as the architect of modern technology, particularly IT and telecom.
Jagga Reddy's Appeal to CJP
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Jagga Reddy stated that if the CJP wishes to protect the country, it should support and join hands with Rahul Gandhi. He emphasized that only the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi can safeguard the Constitution, which he claimed is under threat. "Like body armor (Kavach Kundal to Karna), the Constitution is a shield for the people of the country. As long as the armor is there, there is no danger to the country," he said.
Allegations Against BJP
The Congress leader accused the BJP of winning elections through religious manipulation, using the names of gods, and employing fake votes. "If not Lord Rama, they use the name of Lord Krishna to win elections. People should realize the deception of the BJP. People benefit only if they vote freely without any pressures or influences," he added. Jagga Reddy noted that he has performed Srirama Kalyanam annually for over two decades but never used Lord Rama's name to seek votes in his assembly constituency, Sangareddy.
Economic Critique
Jagga Reddy dismissed the developmental claims of the BJP-led central government, pointing out that the national debt rose from Rs 54 lakh crore before the BJP came to power to Rs 147 lakh crore now. He urged citizens to take note of this increase. The TPCC working president asserted that Rahul Gandhi would become prime minister by winning 300 seats, and the Congress party is the only savior of the country and the Constitution.
