Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on Thursday claimed that unrest among the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MPs has been brewing for the past year and has now erupted. Speaking to reporters here, Shirsat targeted Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut, largely blaming him for the crisis in the Uddhav Thackeray-led party.
Unrest Brewing for a Year
Shirsat stated that the dissatisfaction among the party's MPs has been simmering for a long time. He alleged that the leadership has ignored the concerns of the MPs, leading to the current situation. The unrest has now come to the forefront, indicating a deepening divide within the party.
Shirsat Blames Sanjay Raut
In a direct attack, Shirsat held Sanjay Raut responsible for the turmoil. He accused Raut of mishandling party affairs and creating an environment of distrust. Shirsat emphasized that the party needs immediate corrective measures to address the grievances of its members.
The remarks come amid growing tensions within the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction, which has been struggling to maintain unity after the split from the original Shiv Sena. Political analysts suggest that the internal conflict could weaken the party's position in Maharashtra politics.
Shirsat urged the party leadership to listen to the MPs and take steps to resolve the issues. He warned that continued neglect could lead to further erosion of support. The Sena (UBT) is expected to hold a meeting soon to discuss the matter.
