Chennai: The Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur will provide free entry to the public on Sunday and Monday to mark chief minister C Joseph Vijay’s birthday, announced zoo authorities.
Online Booking Mandatory
Visitors must book tickets online in advance through the zoo’s official portal, tickets.aazp.in, as walk-in purchases will not be permitted on both days. To manage footfall, entry has been divided into two time slots, morning and afternoon, with 10,000 tickets allocated to each.
Timings and Tariffs
The zoo will operate from 8.30am to 5pm, with entry permitted until 4.30pm. All charges beyond entry, including attractions listed under the standard tariff, remain applicable. Battery-operated vehicle services for the zoo circuit, as well as the lion and deer safari, will be suspended on both days. However, complimentary battery-operated vehicle service will be available for persons with disabilities.
Officials said the initiative aims to encourage families and children to engage with wildlife firsthand, fostering awareness of biodiversity, conservation, and environmental responsibility among the general public.
