Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath embarked on a thrilling ride aboard Japan's cutting-edge Maglev train in Yamanashi on Thursday, marking a highlight of his official visit to the country. This high-speed train, utilizing advanced magnetic levitation technology, can achieve speeds of up to 600 kilometers per hour, providing the chief minister with a firsthand glimpse into the future of transportation infrastructure.
Five-Day Tour Aims to Boost Global Investment in Uttar Pradesh
CM Yogi arrived in Tokyo on Wednesday as part of a comprehensive five-day tour that also included Singapore, with the primary objective of attracting substantial global investment and fostering industrial growth in Uttar Pradesh. His itinerary is strategically focused on forging robust partnerships across key sectors, including manufacturing, mobility, technology, urban development, and smart infrastructure.
Prior to his arrival in Japan, the chief minister conducted an investor roadshow in Singapore, where he vigorously promoted Uttar Pradesh as a secure and rapidly expanding investment destination. He revealed that the state has already secured investment proposals valued at an impressive Rs 1 lakh crore, with Memorandums of Understanding amounting to Rs 60,000 crore successfully finalized. Describing this achievement as a significant milestone, CM Yogi emphasized that these investments are poised to play a crucial role in transforming Uttar Pradesh into a one trillion-dollar economy.
Assuring Investors and Highlighting Economic Progress
In his efforts to reassure global investors, CM Yogi underscored the security of every investment made in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the state's unique ability to connect scale with skill and speed. He further elaborated that Uttar Pradesh has cultivated a new identity centered on transformation and rapid growth, positioning itself as an attractive hub for business ventures.
To illustrate the state's economic advancement, CM Yogi pointed out that Uttar Pradesh's Gross State Domestic Product has surged from Rs 13 lakh crore to Rs 36 lakh crore over the past nine years. This remarkable growth now contributes 9.5 percent to India's overall GDP. He proudly described Uttar Pradesh as a dream destination for investment and a top performer in the Ease of Doing Business rankings, reinforcing its appeal to international corporations.
Engagements in Japan and Proposed Development Projects
During his stay in Japan, CM Yogi visited several key locations, including Yamanashi, Osaka, and Kyoto, where he engaged in productive interactions with senior officials and leading corporations. A pivotal event of his visit is the Japan–Uttar Pradesh Partnership Conference, which concentrates on manufacturing, mobility, and technology. This conference will facilitate detailed discussions with companies operating in sectors such as electric vehicles, electronics, railways, engineering, chemicals, and logistics.
In a related development, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has proposed the creation of dedicated investment zones named Japan City and Singapore City within Uttar Pradesh, with land already identified for these ambitious projects. Throughout his visit, CM Yogi is anticipated to extend invitations for additional investment proposals to support these initiatives.
