Bengaluru Imposes Ban Orders Near NEET Re-exam Centres for Smooth Conduct
Bengaluru Bans Gatherings Near NEET Re-exam Centres

The Bengaluru city police have imposed prohibitory orders within a 200-metre radius of all NEET re-examination centres to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam. City police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh issued the directive under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on Friday, June 20, 2026.

Details of the Order

The order prohibits the assembly of four or more persons, carrying of weapons, and any form of protest or demonstration near the exam centres. It also restricts the use of loudspeakers and other sound-emitting devices in the vicinity. The measure aims to prevent any disruption and maintain a peaceful environment for candidates appearing for the NEET re-exam.

Reason Behind the Ban

The NEET re-examination was necessitated after allegations of irregularities in the previous exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) decided to conduct a re-test for affected candidates. To avoid any untoward incidents and ensure the integrity of the exam, the Bengaluru police have taken this precautionary step.

Commissioner Singh stated that the order will remain in effect until the conclusion of the exam on the same day. He urged the public to cooperate with the authorities and avoid any activities that could disturb the exam process.

This is not the first time such measures have been implemented in Bengaluru for competitive exams. Similar orders were issued during previous NEET and JEE exams to maintain law and order.
