Davanagere court bomb threat turns out to be hoax

Davanagere: The city's district court complex underwent a comprehensive search on Friday after a hoax bomb threat email was received. Authorities later confirmed that the threat was fake.

District police officials, the bomb disposal squad, and court staff conducted the search. Bomb disposal teams and dog squads rushed to the spot upon receiving the alert and carried out an extensive operation across the entire court complex. Every room, courtroom, lawyers' building, restroom, and corner of the premises was checked for explosives.

The district court received an email claiming that a bomb had been planted on its premises. The sender warned that a time bomb was placed in the court and would explode at 2pm. At 7.47am on Friday, similar emails were sent simultaneously to several courts across the state.
