Nagpur Police Chief Leads Anti-Spurious Liquor Drive

Nagpur: Commissioner of Police Ravinder Singal chaired a coordination meeting on Thursday with senior officers from the State Excise Department and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to prevent incidents involving spurious liquor and enhance inter-departmental collaboration in the city.

Joint Teams Formed for Swift Action

Instructions were issued to form joint teams for rapid action against illicit liquor production, transportation, and manufacturing units. Emphasis was placed on expediting investigations and securing convictions in liquor-related cases.

The meeting, held at the Police Bhawan Conference Hall in Civil Lines, was attended by Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP Vasant Pardeshi, Joint Commissioner of FDA Krishna Jaipurkar, Divisional Deputy Commissioner (Excise) Ganesh Patil, Superintendent (Excise) Surajkumar Ramod, Vaibhav Vaidya, and other senior police and excise officials.

CP Singal issued directives for the temporary suspension of licenses of erring liquor shops and beer bars, with a primary focus on methanol-mixed alcohol. Strict preventive action was advised against repeat offenders.
