In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, P Balakrishna Reddy of the AIADMK secured a decisive victory in the Hosur constituency, polling 1,09,867 votes and winning by a margin of 27,803 votes. He defeated TVK candidate Vendarkarasan S, who garnered 82,064 votes. DMK candidate S A Sathya finished third with 73,773 votes.

The Hosur constituency witnessed a high-stakes industrial-belt battle. The DMK fielded S A Sathya, a former MLA seeking to reclaim his seat. He faced a formidable challenge from AIADMK's P Balakrishna Reddy, a veteran former minister with significant local following. The entry of Vendarkarasan S, representing the TVK, added a fresh dynamic, appealing to the city's vast youth population and industrial labour force. Maheshkumar K of the NTK focused on regional environmental issues.

In the 2021 election, Y Prakaash of the DMK secured victory with 118,231 votes (47.65% vote share), defeating S Jyothi of the AIADMK by 12,367 votes. In 2016, P Balakrishna Reddy of the AIADMK won with 89,510 votes, defeating INC's K Gopinath by 22,964 votes.
