Hyderabad mourns the loss of a prominent political figure as Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, the general secretary of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and a four-term MLA, passed away on Tuesday. He was 72 years old.

Political Journey and Achievements
Quadri's entry into politics began in 1986 when he served as a corporator in the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, representing the Dabeerpura Ward. His dedication soon propelled him to higher offices. He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Charminar assembly constituency in 2004, 2009, and 2014, demonstrating consistent public trust. Later, in 2018, he secured victory from the Yakutpura constituency, further cementing his legacy as a respected lawmaker.
As the long-standing general secretary of AIMIM, Quadri was widely admired for his discipline, leadership at the grassroots level, and steadfast loyalty to the party's principles. His efforts were instrumental in expanding the party's reach and consolidating its support base in Telangana.
Funeral Arrangements
The AIMIM office has announced the funeral details. The Namaz e Janaza will be offered at Masjid e Hakeem Vazir Ali, located at Fathe Darwaza in Bahadurpura, at 1.20 pm, following the Namaz e Zohar. Subsequently, the Tadfeen, or burial, will take place at Masjid Hazrath Syed Mohiuddin Pasha Zareen Kulah in Noor Khan Bazar, Dabeerpura. These arrangements reflect the deep-rooted community connections Quadri maintained throughout his life.
His passing marks the end of an era for AIMIM and the political landscape of Hyderabad, leaving a void that will be hard to fill.
