Bhiwani Municipal Council Approves Construction of 14 Historic Gates

The Municipal Council in Bhiwani has taken a significant step towards reviving the town's architectural heritage by adopting a resolution to construct approximately 14 gates across the area. This initiative aims to restore the historical charm of Bhiwani, which once featured structures from the British era that have since been demolished.

Project Details and Naming Convention

During a meeting chaired by Municipal Council Chairperson Preeti Bhawani Pratap Singh, officials decided that these gates will be named after great personalities from Indian history. The exact locations for the gates are yet to be finalized, but the plan includes four entry gates at key routes connecting neighboring districts: Hunnamal Ki Pyau, Devnagar, Loharu Road, and Meham Road.

The construction of these gates and welcome entrances is estimated to cost around Rs 10 crore, with work set to commence soon. This project is part of a broader effort to enhance the beauty and cleanliness of the town, as emphasized by MC officials.

Broader Development Initiatives

In addition to the gate construction, the municipal council meeting addressed various development activities. The income and expenditure details for the fiscal year 2025–26 were presented, along with a proposed budget of approximately Rs 124.31 crore for development works in 2026–27.

It was also resolved that no colony or street in Bhiwani would remain without a name or number. The Municipal Council will soon install nameplates and numbering plates for all colonies and streets, with this plan receiving approval from councillors.

Additional Demands and Proposals

During the meeting, councillors raised specific demands for their respective areas. Councillor Subhash Tanwar called for the regularization of illegal colonies and proposed naming the auditorium under construction in Uttam Nagar after Neempal Singh.

Chairperson Preeti Bhawani Pratap Singh assured that development works are progressing at full pace, highlighting the council's commitment to improving the town's infrastructure and historical appeal.
