Bihar Partners with Convergence Foundation for 3-Year Development Push
Bihar Govt, TCF Sign 3-Year Strategic Partnership

In a significant move to fast-track progress, the Bihar government's planning and development department has forged a strategic, three-year alliance with The Convergence Foundation (TCF). This partnership, formalized in the presence of Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, is designed to inject expert-driven momentum into the state's key growth initiatives.

Key Focus Areas of the Collaboration

The high-profile meeting for the announcement saw participation from principal secretary K Senthil Kumar and secretary Kanwal Tanuj from the planning department, alongside TCF representatives Praveen Khangta and Aditi Elhans. TCF will provide pro-bono strategic support across several critical domains.

The collaboration will concentrate on a multi-pronged strategy. A primary focus is on investment and economic reforms, aiming to create a business-friendly climate by simplifying regulations, improving ease of doing business, and promoting investment and exports.

Another major pillar is regional development, where the partnership will craft strategic plans to ensure balanced and equitable growth across all regions of Bihar. Concurrently, a comprehensive tourism enhancement policy will be developed, focusing on destination branding, governance, and partnerships to revitalize the sector.

Building Institutional Capacity and Clean Air Strategy

Beyond these sectors, the partnership seeks to strengthen the state's capacity for effective scheme delivery and enhance data systems for evidence-based policymaking. It will also assist in designing and implementing clean air strategies.

A crucial component of this alliance is the establishment of a dedicated research and strategy unit within the Chief Secretary's office. This unit will work closely with various state departments to provide ongoing policy and strategy support in identified priority areas.

A Benchmark for Governance and Growth

The state government expressed strong optimism about this partnership's potential. According to the official press release, Bihar aims to harness TCF's expertise and network to set a new benchmark in governance and development. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for citizens through sustainable and inclusive growth.

This three-year partnership with The Convergence Foundation marks a proactive step by the Bihar administration to leverage external, expert knowledge in its journey toward a brighter economic and social future.
