Senior BJP Leader's Public Outburst Rocks Party in Gaya

In an unprecedented show of dissent, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kshitij Mohan Singh has launched a scathing attack against his own party's decision to renominate Virendra Singh as the candidate from Wazirganj constituency in Gaya district. The public rebellion has created significant embarrassment for the party leadership during the crucial election period.

Corruption Allegations and Emotional Appeal

Through an emotional social media post, Kshitij Mohan Singh leveled serious corruption charges against the official BJP nominee. He accused Virendra Singh of taking cut money from beneficiaries of various government schemes, including the PM housing scheme and Public Distribution System dealers.

The senior leader, who appeared deeply hurt by the party's decision, revealed his personal sacrifices for the organization. I sacrificed everything and preferred bachelorhood to serve the party, he stated in his post, expressing his disappointment with the leadership's choice.

Historical Grievances and Vow to Defeat Party Candidate

Kshitij Mohan didn't stop at corruption allegations. He brought up historical incidents to question Virendra Singh's loyalty to the party. He accused the sitting MLA of burning the party flag in the past and publicly humiliating late senior leader Pramod Mahajan.

In a dramatic declaration that has sent shockwaves through party ranks, Kshitij Mohan vowed to leave no stone unturned to ensure the defeat of the party's official candidate in the upcoming elections.

Party Response and Damage Control Efforts

The accused MLA, Virendra Singh, promptly dismissed all allegations as the musings of a frustrated man whose claim to contest the seat has been rejected by the party. He categorically denied receiving any cut money from scheme beneficiaries, calling the charges all rubbish.

District BJP chief Prem Prakash, alias Chintu, attempted to downplay the situation. Such things are normal during election period, and nothing much should be read into it, he stated. When questioned about potential disciplinary action against Kshitij Mohan, the district chief described him as a senior and dedicated leader of the party and indicated they would try to assuage his hurt feelings rather than take punitive measures.

Wider Discontent in BJP Ranks

The rebellion in Wazirganj isn't the only source of trouble for BJP in the region. Significant discontent has emerged in Aurangabad town where the party has nominated Trivikram Singh instead of four-time winner Ramadhar Singh.

Ramadhar Singh, who lost the 2020 election by a narrow margin of about 2,000 votes, expressed his fury at being denied the ticket. He predicted that the party's official nominee would forfeit his security deposit because Trivikram is not a local resident but hails from Rohtas. The experienced MLA emphasized that there was no dearth of local talent within the party.

These twin rebellions have put the BJP leadership in a difficult position as they attempt to maintain party unity while facing internal challenges to their candidate selection process in key constituencies.
