Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to the people of Maharashtra on Friday. This came after the BJP-led NDA and Mahayuti alliance registered a sweeping victory in the state's municipal corporation elections.

PM Modi's Message on Social Media

In a post on X, PM Modi thanked Maharashtra's dynamic population. He stated that the people have blessed the NDA's agenda of pro-people good governance. The Prime Minister emphasized that election results from various municipal corporations indicate a deepening bond between the NDA and Maharashtra's citizens.

"Our track record and vision for development have struck a chord," PM Modi wrote. He extended his gratitude to people across the entire state.

The Prime Minister described this victory as a vote to add momentum to progress. He also called it a celebration of the glorious culture associated with Maharashtra. PM Modi expressed pride in every NDA Karyakarta who worked tirelessly among people throughout the state.

"They talked about our alliance's track record, highlighted our vision for the coming times and also effectively countered the lies of the Opposition," he added. The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to all party workers.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Reacts

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis credited the BJP-led Mahayuti's strong performance to its development-focused agenda. He asserted that ideology and governance go hand in hand for the alliance.

"Hindutva has always been our soul; one cannot differentiate our Hindutva from development," Fadnavis stated clearly.

The Chief Minister thanked voters across Maharashtra. "First of all, I want to thank the citizens of Maharashtra for giving a grand victory to the BJP in the municipal elections," he said. Fadnavis announced that BJP and Mahayuti are going to form their 25 mayors following these elections.

Leadership and Vision

Fadnavis explained that the alliance fought the civic polls under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. They maintained a clear emphasis on infrastructure and governance throughout the campaign.

"We faced these elections with a vision of development under the leadership of PM Modi," the Chief Minister stated. "That is why we got a record-breaking mandate in these elections."

Fadnavis emphasized that the results have clarified an important political reality. "These results have clarified that Maharashtra relies a lot on PM Modi," he concluded.

Election Results and Trends

As per trends available till Friday evening, the BJP Shiv Sena Mahayuti was leading in a majority of municipal corporations across Maharashtra. This includes the crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

The alliance was ahead on 130 of the 227 BMC seats. This comfortably crosses the majority mark of 114 seats required for control.

  • The BJP emerged as the largest party with 93 seats
  • Its ally Shiv Sena was leading on 27 seats
  • The Mahayuti alliance demonstrated strong performance across urban centers
