As the state of Jharkhand gears up for civic body elections across various municipal corporations, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) convened a significant gathering of its office bearers and dedicated workers at the party headquarters in Ranchi on Friday. "There is a pressing need to ensure the victory of such candidates who are dedicated to the welfare of the people and firmly believe in nationalist thinking," Sahu asserted, highlighting the BJP's focus on principled representation in local governance.

Sahu accused the incumbent regime of deliberately avoiding this approach due to fears of electoral defeat. "However, the incumbent regime, fearing a potential loss, has opted against holding party-based polls. The government has allegedly orchestrated a conspiracy to sway the election outcomes by leveraging the administrative machinery, which is also why they are refraining from using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)," he claimed, pointing to what the BJP perceives as systemic biases.

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, who was actively present at the meeting, urged party workers to rally behind candidates who reject appeasement politics. After aligning with the BJP, Vijay Singh Gagrai expressed his motivations, stating, "I made the decision to join the BJP after being profoundly impressed by the transformative work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am now fully committed to implementing the BJP's policies and programs on the ground as a dedicated foot soldier." This move highlights the BJP's ongoing efforts to expand its base and attract influential local figures ahead of the elections.
