Pune Mayor's Post: BJP Confident of Victory, Unveils Ward 3 Manifesto
BJP's Mohol Confident of Winning Pune Mayor Post

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol expressed strong confidence on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure the mayor's position in the Pune Municipal Corporation. He attributed this optimism to the party's clear vision and the positive public response during grassroots campaigns.

Confidence in BJP's Leadership and Vision

Addressing a gathering of party workers and residents at a 'Parivartan Sabha' organized by the BJP-Republican Party of India alliance in Ward 3, Mohol outlined the reasons for his confidence. "BJP's clear vision and strong leadership will ensure meaningful change in the city's civic administration," he stated. He emphasized that Pune's citizens are seeking stable and development-focused governance.

"Going by the encouraging response we are getting on the ground, BJP will form the next municipal government and the mayor will be from our party," Mohol asserted. The event, which covered areas including Vimannagar and Lohegaon, saw attendance from alliance candidates and senior local leaders.

Alliance Candidates Focus on Core Civic Issues

The 'Parivartan Sabha' featured addresses by the alliance's candidates: Anil Dilip Satav, Aishwarya Pathare, Shreyas Pritam Khandve, and Ramdas Dattatray Dabhade. Anil Dilip Satav, while speaking, centered the alliance's agenda on pressing civic problems. He highlighted their commitment to fundamental improvements in urban infrastructure and services.

"If elected, we are committed to bringing visible and measurable improvements at the grassroots level," Satav promised. He listed key focus areas including road conditions, water supply networks, public transportation systems, and environmental protection measures. Earlier in the day, the candidates conducted a foot march from the Lohegaon bus stop to the Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj temple, interacting directly with residents to understand their development concerns.

Ward 3 Manifesto: Metro, Lakes, and a 'Lake City' Vision

A significant highlight of the program was the detailed presentation of the BJP's recently released manifesto specifically for Ward 3. Described as a practical and time-bound development plan, the manifesto contains several key proposals aimed at transforming local infrastructure.

One of the major promises involves extending the proposed Khadakwasla-Kharadi Metro line up to the Pune airport in Lohegaon. This extension is pitched as a crucial step to decongest traffic and bolster public transport connectivity for the area. Another focal point is the environmental rejuvenation of several lakes.

The manifesto pledges comprehensive cleaning, beautification, and eco-friendly development of lakes in locations such as:

  • Jambhulwadi
  • Katraj
  • Pashan
  • Lohegaon

This initiative is part of a long-term vision to promote and rebrand Pune as a 'Lake City', enhancing its ecological sustainability and aesthetic appeal. The candidates and leaders present framed these pledges as actionable plans that would directly address the quality of life for Ward 3 residents and contribute to Pune's overall development.
