Congress Functionary's Viral Gun Dance at Wedding Triggers Widespread Outrage

A controversial video, allegedly showing Congress functionary Mateen Patel dancing with a firearm at a wedding celebration in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district, has ignited a firestorm of criticism across social media platforms. The visuals, which have gone massively viral, depict behavior that has been condemned as both irresponsible and dangerous by the public.

Filmic Entry and Dangerous Display

According to the widely circulated video clips, Mateen Patel, identified as a close associate of Afzalpur Congress MLA MY Patil, made a dramatic entrance at the wedding venue. Stepping out of his vehicle to the beat of loud music, he proceeded to the stage in a manner reminiscent of cinematic sequences. The footage then captures Patel dancing energetically to a song from the movie 'Dhurandhar' while conspicuously brandishing a pistol in one hand.

Adding to the alarming scene, one of Patel's followers is visibly holding what appears to be a modern automatic rifle, further escalating concerns about the normalization of weapon display in social settings. Wedding guests can be seen recording the entire incident on their mobile phones, contributing to the rapid spread of the video online.

Public Fury and Condemnation

The incident has provoked intense backlash from citizens and netizens alike, with many expressing deep anger and dissatisfaction. Critics have vehemently questioned the conduct of an individual associated with public life, labeling the act as reckless, irresponsible, and a dangerous precedent.

Social media platforms have been flooded with comments condemning the blatant display of firearms at a celebratory event, with users demanding immediate accountability and legal action. The public outrage underscores growing intolerance for such behavior, especially from those connected to political circles.

Police Launch Formal Investigation

In response to the alleged incident, Kalaburagi City Police Commissioner Sharanappa SD has confirmed that authorities have taken serious note of the viral visuals. "An investigation is currently underway to verify the exact location and circumstances of the incident," stated the top police official.

Commissioner Sharanappa emphasized that displaying weapons in public spaces constitutes a criminal offense under Indian law. "After conducting a thorough and detailed inquiry, a suo motu case will be registered against those involved," he assured, indicating that the police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness.

The police probe aims to ascertain all facts surrounding the event, including the authenticity of the weapons shown and the legality of their possession and display. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about firearm misuse and the need for stricter enforcement of existing regulations.
