The Hyderabad District Congress Committee (DCC) on Friday launched the Congress BLA App, designed to assist Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in monitoring the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. DCC president Syed Khalid Saifullah stated that the app helps identify possible duplicate voters, track voter mapping status, and guide citizens through the revision process.
Purpose and Features of the App
According to Saifullah, the app enables BLAs to efficiently manage voter data and ensure accuracy in the electoral roll. It provides real-time updates on mapping status and flags potential duplicate entries, streamlining the revision exercise. The app is already operational across Hyderabad district.
Impact on Electoral Integrity
The initiative aims to enhance transparency and reduce errors in the voter list. Saifullah emphasized that the app empowers local agents to resolve discrepancies promptly, benefiting both the party and citizens. The SIR process, conducted periodically, seeks to update voter information and remove inaccuracies.
Saifullah urged all BLAs to utilize the app to its full potential, noting that it simplifies their work and ensures a fair electoral roll. The Congress party plans to expand similar digital tools in other districts based on the Hyderabad model.
