In a significant boost to the state's police force, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is set to formally induct thousands of new personnel. He will preside over a major ceremony in Gandhinagar to distribute appointment letters to a large batch of recently recruited constables.
Massive Recruitment Drive Culminates in Grand Ceremony
The event, scheduled for Tuesday at the Ramkatha Ground in Gandhinagar, marks the completion of a major recruitment phase for the Lok Rakshak Dal (LRD). The state home department has finalized the process for this cadre, leading to the selection of 11,899 candidates in total.
Out of these selected candidates, the document verification process has been completed for 11,607 individuals, who will receive their official appointment letters directly from the Chief Minister at the function. The gender breakdown of the total selections highlights a concerted inclusion effort, with 8,782 male and 3,117 female candidates making the cut.
High-Profile Event with Key Dignitaries
The ceremony will witness the presence of several key state ministers, underscoring its importance. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Minister of State for Police Housing and Jails, Kamlesh Patel, will also be in attendance to welcome the new recruits into the force.
This event is not just a formality but a public demonstration of the state government's commitment to strengthening law enforcement infrastructure and providing employment opportunities on a large scale.
Continuous Hiring: More Vacancies Announced
In an announcement that signals ongoing expansion, the government revealed that the recruitment drive is far from over. Apart from the current batch of LRD constables, the state has declared fresh openings for an additional 13,591 vacant positions across the police force.
The official statement confirmed that the recruitment process for these new vacancies is already underway. This indicates a sustained effort to fill sanctioned posts and enhance the police-to-population ratio in Gujarat, aiming for better public safety and security.
The grand induction ceremony in Gandhinagar, therefore, represents both a conclusion and a new beginning for police recruitment in the state, promising thousands more job opportunities in the near future.
