Haryana Minister Vipul Goyal Directs Immediate Action Against Illegal Encroachments in Panchkula
In a decisive move to address civic disorder, Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Vipul Goyal on Friday issued strict directives to officials for taking immediate action against illegal encroachments across Panchkula. The minister emphasized the need to demolish unauthorized structures and seal rear gates that residents have opened illegally, signaling a zero-tolerance approach towards such violations.
Meeting Addresses Civic Grievances and Encroachment Issues
Chairing a meeting of the district public relations and grievance redressal committee at the PWD rest house in Sector 1, Minister Goyal reviewed six complaints related to civic issues. Most of these grievances were resolved on the spot, while time-bound instructions were issued for the remaining matters, ensuring prompt action and accountability.
Taking serious note of encroachments in Sector 6, Goyal instructed Municipal Corporation (MC) officials to prioritize the removal of all unauthorized structures. He firmly stated that encroachments of any kind would not be permitted and specifically ordered the closure of illegally opened back gates, labeling them as clear violations of established norms.
Jhuriwala Dump and Pollution Concerns Addressed
Residents of Sector 25 raised significant concerns about the long-standing garbage accumulation in Jhuriwala village, which has led to foul smells and environmental pollution. In response, Minister Goyal directed the MC to ensure daily garbage lifting and expedite the clearance of legacy waste at the earliest possible opportunity.
Additionally, the minister instructed the pollution control board to accelerate the issuance of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a proposed material recovery facility in Alipur village. The regional officer was tasked with coordinating with the MC to complete all formalities within the stipulated timeframe, aiming to make the facility operational soon and enhance waste management efforts.
Encroachments in Sector 6 Park and Abhaypur Village
A long-pending complaint regarding encroachments in MC park no. 606, Sector 6, was also addressed during the meeting. Goyal directed officials to clear the park area of encroachments without any delay, restoring public space for community use.
The councillor of ward 9 informed the minister that factory owners in Abhaypur village had encroached upon firni land, obstructing the sewerage pipeline work of the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). Goyal ordered the MC to remove these encroachments and instructed HSVP to resume laying the sewer line, with a progress report to be presented at the next meeting.
Shop Encroachments Near Bhainsa Tibba Village
Residents of MDC Sector 6 complained that the footpath along the main road near Bhainsa Tibba village, under the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA), had been encroached upon by shops, tandoors, and kilns. Minister Goyal asked PMDA officials to give encroachers a 10-day notice to voluntarily remove the structures.
If the encroachers fail to comply within this period, enforcement action must be taken, and grilles should be installed to prevent future encroachments, ensuring the footpath remains accessible and safe for pedestrians.
Focus on Civic Order and Hygiene
Reiterating the state government's commitment to maintaining civic order and hygiene, Minister Goyal emphasized that strict enforcement and timely grievance redressal would remain top priorities in Panchkula. This comprehensive approach aims to foster a cleaner, more organized urban environment for all residents.
