In a decisive victory, independent candidate Vikas won the Ward No. 13 by-election of the Jhajjar municipal council, defeating Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominee Sudhanshu by a margin of 295 votes. The counting of votes, conducted on Wednesday, was peaceful and orderly, with 1,727 voters having cast their ballots in the bypoll held on Sunday.
Vote Tally and Participation
Vikas secured 1,007 votes, while Sudhanshu received 712 votes. Eight voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option. The by-election saw enthusiastic participation from the electorate, reflecting the democratic spirit of the ward.
Counting Process and Security
The counting of votes took place at Shaheed Ramesh Kumar Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School in Jhajjar. The entire process was carried out under the supervision of district administration officials, with elaborate security arrangements in place. Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Swapnil Ravindra Patil oversaw the electoral exercise to ensure transparency and fairness.
The bypoll was necessitated due to a vacancy in Ward No. 13, and the smooth conduct of the election highlights the efficiency of the local administration.
