Hyderabad: Telangana Congress working president Jagga Reddy has dared BJP leaders to engage in a debate on the Congress government's contributions to the nation versus 12 years of BJP rule. He highlighted that successive Congress governments in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh brought central institutions like BHEL, BDL, ICRISAT, and IIT Hyderabad to Hyderabad. In contrast, he accused the BJP government of privatizing public sector undertakings (PSUs) during its tenure.
Rahul Gandhi's Birthday Celebrated in Sangareddy
On Friday, Jagga Reddy, along with hundreds of Congress workers, celebrated the birthday of Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in Sangareddy. A specially prepared 200 kg cake was cut for the occasion, and 350 bicycles were distributed to students.
Reddy emphasized the need to bring Congress back to power at the Centre and make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister for the nation's welfare. “The BJP leaders are celebrating, claiming they have dismantled Nehru’s legacy, which is not good for the country,” he said.
Criticism of BJP's Performance
Jagga Reddy asserted that the BJP has failed the country over the past 12 years of rule, citing unfulfilled promises such as creating two crore jobs annually and providing housing for all with Rs 15 lakh deposited in every poor family's account. “The BJP knows only to cheat the people and gain votes,” the TPCC leader stated.
