Karnataka Fans' Association Issues Ultimatum Over Ambareesh Remarks

In a significant development in Karnataka's political landscape, Beluru Somashekar, president of the All Karnataka Ambareesh Fans' Association, has issued a stern one-day deadline on Thursday. He demands that former MP LR Shivaramegowda issue an unconditional public apology for allegedly making derogatory and obscene remarks against the late former minister MH Ambareesh.

Protest Threats and District-Wide Action

Somashekar has cautioned that failure to comply with this demand will result in a major protest scheduled for January 30 in Bengaluru. This demonstration is planned to be extended later to Mandya district, intensifying the pressure on Shivaramegowda and the Congress party leadership.

Controversy Stemming from Audio Clip

Speaking to reporters, Somashekar explained that the controversy erupted following the circulation of an audio clip. In this recording, Shivaramegowda is reportedly heard making defamatory remarks not only against Ambareesh but also against other senior Congress leaders, including former MP G Madegowda. The remarks have sparked widespread outrage among supporters and followers of both leaders across the district, highlighting the emotional and political sensitivities involved.

Criticism of KPCC Leadership's Silence

Expressing deep disappointment, Somashekar questioned the silence of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) leadership. He pointedly asked why no notice or disciplinary action has been taken against Shivaramegowda for insulting two respected leaders. This inaction has raised concerns about internal party discipline and respect for legacy figures within the Congress ranks.

Call for Immediate Action from Party High Command

In a direct appeal, Somashekar urged the Congress party high command to act immediately if it genuinely respects the legacy of Madegowda and Ambareesh. He emphasized that timely intervention is crucial to address the grievances of loyal supporters and maintain the party's integrity in Karnataka.

Legal Demands and Police Complaints

Beyond political measures, Somashekar has made clear legal demands. He insisted that police register a suo motu case and arrest Shivaramegowda without any further delay. To formalize this, he announced that complaints would be lodged at police stations in Mandya and Chennammanakere, ensuring that the matter is pursued through judicial channels as well.

The situation remains tense as the deadline approaches, with potential implications for local politics and party dynamics in Karnataka.
