Maddur MLA Stands Firm on Municipality Expansion Amid Protests

Maddur MLA Kadaluru Uday strongly defended the decision to include Gejjalagere gram panchayat within the newly formed Maddur city municipality on Tuesday. He launched a sharp attack on opposition leaders, accusing them of spreading false information.

MLA Accuses Opposition of Misleading Public

Responding to ongoing protests against the merger, Uday specifically targeted opposition leaders R Ashoka and Chalavadi Narayanaswamy. He claimed they deliberately spread misinformation to mislead the public about the administrative process.

The MLA firmly refuted allegations that the city municipality formation happened solely at his insistence. He told reporters that Ashoka and Narayanaswamy participated in protests without fully understanding the administrative procedures involved.

Uday accused them of politicizing what should be a purely developmental decision for Maddur's progress.

MLA Responds to Criticism About His Tenure

Reacting to Ashoka's remark that he has only two years left to do meaningful work, Uday gave a spirited response. He declared that even if he had only two days remaining in office, he would strive to create history through his service to the people.

The MLA ridiculed opposition leaders for what he called their double standards. He pointed out that despite holding high offices such as deputy chief minister and minister, Ashoka failed to develop his own constituency in Bengaluru.

"Now he attempts to obstruct development initiatives in Maddur," Uday remarked pointedly.

MLA Addresses "Foreign MLA" Allegations

Uday also dismissed claims branding him a "foreign MLA." He clarified that he remains fully accessible to his constituents in Maddur and never summons people to Bengaluru for meetings.

The MLA emphasized that he serves his people locally, addressing their concerns directly in their own communities. He maintained that his focus remains on development work rather than political gamesmanship.

The controversy highlights ongoing tensions between ruling and opposition parties regarding urban development decisions in Karnataka's growing municipalities.
