Mandya Deputy Commissioner Mandates Robust Safety Protocols for Budanuru Utsav Helitourism

In preparation for the highly anticipated Budanuru Utsav, Mandya Deputy Commissioner Kumara has issued comprehensive directives to ensure foolproof safety and convenience for the public during the helitourism program scheduled from February 20 to 22. The three-day event is expected to attract large crowds, prompting officials to make extensive arrangements at the helipad site.

Essential Facilities and Emergency Preparedness

DC Kumara emphasized the critical need for essential facilities, including safe drinking water, clean toilets, ample parking spaces, and adequate lighting to prevent any inconvenience to visitors. Highlighting the importance of emergency preparedness, he instructed the deployment of a dedicated medical team comprising experienced doctors and sufficient first-aid facilities at the venue, along with a standby ambulance.

Additionally, he mandated the presence of the fire department with fire tenders on-site to handle any unforeseen incidents during the helitourism operations. To ensure smooth management, officials were directed to establish a clearly marked ticket counter that displays all helipad rules and regulations for public awareness.

Helitourism Details and Security Measures

As part of the Budanuru Utsav celebrations, the helitourism initiative will offer visitors a unique bird's-eye view of the festivities. The aerial experience is priced at Rs 3,800 per person for a 7-minute ride. For safety reasons, children below 5 years of age will not be permitted to participate.

Superintendent of Police VJ Shobharani underlined the need for strict security measures. She stated that passengers must follow a queue system while purchasing tickets and comply with all safety protocols. Electronic gadgets, mobile phones, and water bottles will be strictly prohibited during the flight. Passengers must use designated pathways to reach the helipad and carry a valid government-issued identity card to board the helicopter.

Key Officials Present at the Meeting

Assistant Commissioner Shivamurthy, Fire Department Superintendent Raghavendra, MIMS Director Narasimhamurthy, Dr. Javaregowda, and Dr. Veerabhadrappa were also present during the discussions, underscoring the collaborative effort to ensure a safe and successful event.
