CM Mohan Yadav Launches Krishi Kalyan Varsh 2026 with 1101-Tractor Rally in Bhopal
MP CM Launches Farmers' Welfare Year 2026 with Tractor Rally

In a grand spectacle aimed at prioritizing the agrarian community, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav officially inaugurated the Krishi Kalyan Varsh 2026 (Farmers Welfare Year 2026) on Sunday. The launch event was marked by a massive tractor rally at the Jambooree Maidan in the state capital, Bhopal.

A Sea of Tractors Kicks Off the Initiative

The chief minister flagged off a vibrant procession of 1101 decorated tractors, with thousands of farmers arriving to participate in the convention and rally. This event signals the commencement of the state government's targeted year for the holistic development and betterment of farmers' lives.

Addressing the massive gathering, CM Yadav connected the launch with broader themes of cultural faith and national pride. He referenced the ongoing Somnath Swabhiman Parv, drawing a parallel between historical resilience and contemporary progress. "A thousand years ago, the attack by Mahmud of Ghazni on Somnath temple tried to challenge our faith, but through the 1000 years we kept our faith in God alive," he stated.

Yadav credited Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel for the reconstruction of the Somnath temple and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for amplifying the celebration of faith, citing the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. "The pain that we suffered a thousand years ago was removed by Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. And then after 500 years of struggle, through a Supreme Court the Ram Mandir has been constructed by Prime Minister Modi," he said, describing a nation immersed in joy.

Political Contrasts and a Pledge for Farmers

The chief minister also launched a critique against the Congress party regarding its stance on the triple talaq issue, contrasting it with the intervention by PM Modi. "It was again Prime Minister Modi who took the initiative and took them out of the crisis because all sisters are the same, whether Hindu or Muslim," he asserted.

Shifting focus squarely to the agrarian agenda, Yadav recalled PM Modi's categorization of key societal groups—the poor, women, youth, and farmers. Declaring farmers as the "sons of Mother Earth," he pledged, "For the sons of Mother Earth, our farmers, we will dedicate the entire year from today for their development." The launch was timed a day before Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary, symbolizing a commitment to progress.

Outlining a new administrative approach, Yadav announced a significant shift in how farmer welfare will be handled. "Previously, there was only one agriculture department that dealt with the agrarian sector. But now, we have selected 16 allied departments, and all these will work together for the betterment of the lives of farmers," he explained, promising a more integrated effort.

An Aerial View of Farmer Solidarity

Describing the scale of the rally, the chief minister shared his aerial perspective. "I was watching from the helicopter and my eyes saw only tractors all the way. These were only the tractors without the trolleys. If the trolleys were added, then it would have covered the whole Hoshangabad Highway," he remarked, underscoring the overwhelming participation.

In a symbolic gesture of solidarity, CM Yadav, wearing a saffron turban, himself drove a tractor alongside farmers for a short distance. He was accompanied by Huzur assembly MLA Rameshwar Sharma and state Agriculture Minister Aidal Singh Kansana. State BJP president Hemant Khandelwal was also present at the event, highlighting its political significance.

The launch of Krishi Kalyan Varsh 2026 sets the stage for a year-long, multi-departmental focus on agricultural advancement in Madhya Pradesh. The grand tractor rally in Bhopal has successfully drawn attention to the government's pledge, placing farmers at the center of the state's development roadmap for the coming years.
