Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday visited Betul district and shared a meal with a tribal family, in a move aimed at connecting with grassroots communities. The visit underscores the state government's focus on tribal welfare and outreach programs.

Government Schemes and Tribal Welfare

The CM highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central and state governments have launched numerous schemes for the upliftment of tribals. He mentioned that over 1.5 crore families in Madhya Pradesh have benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana alone. Yadav also noted that the state government has allocated Rs 12,000 crore for tribal development in the current fiscal year.

According to official data, Betul district has a significant tribal population, with over 40% of residents belonging to Scheduled Tribes. The district has seen increased focus on education and healthcare under the current administration.

Political Significance

The visit comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, where tribal votes are crucial. The BJP has been making efforts to consolidate tribal support, with several senior leaders visiting tribal-dominated areas. CM Yadav's meal with the tribal family is seen as a gesture of solidarity and accessibility.

Speaking to reporters, Yadav said, "This is not just a meal; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the tribal community. We are working tirelessly to ensure that every tribal family gets the benefits of government schemes."

The opposition Congress criticized the visit as a photo opportunity, accusing the government of failing to deliver on promises. However, local residents expressed appreciation for the CM's personal touch.
